Hydrogen powered vehicles are also propelled by an electric motor. However, hydrogen powered vehicles derive energy from hydrogen stored aboard the vehicle in pressurized tanks, which need to be refilled at hydrogen fueling stations when depleted. A small battery helps to drive the electric motor, the battery is powered by the onboard hydrogen.

Electric vehicles are propelled by an electric motor. Electric vehicles receive all their energy from a battery pack which needs to be charged via an electrical outlet when the power is depleted.
